Spring Lippies

Spring has finally sprung!  As the sun shines and the days warm up, all it makes me think about is wearing a bright lip!   I’m a huge lipstick junkie and recently tried out L.A. Girl Cosmetics Glazed Lip Paint and have been loving them.  They appear on the lips like lipstick but with an intense pigmentation and high gloss.  Because they are infused with Vitamin E and peppermint oil, they are smooth and silky on your lips which also helps to keep them moisturized.  Although they are really glossy they are not at all sticky like most lip glosses.  At $3.49 each, they are extremely affordable and will not disappoint.  The colors on camera don’t appear as bright as they are in person but very similar.   I picked up five colors off www.drugstore.com, which has everything your local drugstore has and more.  The only place I was able to find these was online as they do not sell them at any of my local drugstores.  Not only are the prices affordable but there is always a sale and you get cash back for every purchase you make.  Free shipping with any $35 purchase and they ship within two days!!  Here are the colors I picked up.

L.A. Girl Cosmetics – Glazed Lip Paint

Hope you try them out for yourselves, I promise you will love them!!

Pink Spring Smoke

Pink Spring Smokey Eye

I wanted to create a look that I could get from just one palette; mainly beacause I was lazy and didn’t want to pull out five others just to create it. LOL. So I decided to use the BH Cosmetics BH Hollywood Palette.  Its compact, easy to travel with and only $4.95!!!.  It contains16 eyeshadows, a bronzer, two blushes, and a highlighter.  This was my first time using this palette and I’m very impressed with it!  The colors were easy to blend out and are true to the actual color.  Because I was in the spring mood I went for this bright spring smokey eye with pinky nude lip. 🙂

  1. I applied the terracotta bronzy shade as my transition color right above the crease.
  2. Used both the matte and glittery red just above the crease and blended it in with the transition color.
  3. The glittery pink blush color went allover my eyelid, from lash line to crease.
  4. This bright pink color was used on the outer portion of my eye to bring more dimension to the look.
  5. The sparkly gold color was put in the center of my lid to add a little more subtlety to the look.
  6. Then I added the matte black shadow (use a light hand) to apply into the crease and blend it out. I didn’t want to blend it out too much because I wanted to keep the cut crease. I also added black to the outer V of my eye and for the lower lash line I blended the black shadow with a mix of the matte red and pink eyeshadows.

March Favorites!

My March Favorites

I cannot believe we are already in April!!  Did we not just celebrate Christmas like two weeks ago??  Some days I wish time would just stand still or just slow down a bit…let me catch up!!  As the month came to an end I realized that I had been reaching for the same products over and over again.  So…since I think they are so great, I thought I’d share them with you. 🙂

Kat Von D – Shadow & Lights Contour Palette  – This palette is perfection!  I seriously don’t know what I did before contouring.  The colors are great and don’t come off looking muddy on the face.  The highlighting colors are great for setting your under eye concealer or defining your contour.

BH Cosmetics Professional Blush Palette   – I have still been loving this blush palette since I purchased it.  They have such great pigmentation and a great variety of colors.  (See my BH Cosmetics Review for more info)

BH Cosmetics Duo Fiber Stippling Brush  – I received this in the Studio Pro Brush Kit and have been using this to blend out my contour, blush, and highlight so I don’t have any harsh lines and to make sure everything blends together seamlessly.

Studio Basic Double Ended Eye Shadow Brush – Sorry but I don’t have the link to this product but I did purchase it at Ulta.  The double end allows me to really blend out my eyeshadows with one end and put a crease or brow bone color on with the other.  I keep this in my makeup bag at all times.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector (Opal)  – We’ve all heard the hype about this highlighter and I have to admit it is all true.  This gives you the perfect highlight without being overly glittery.

Michael Kors Glam Jasmine  – This smells similar to the original Michael Kors but with more of a floral scent to it.  I cannot get enough of this perfume!  I literally douse myself in this every day.

Milani Lipstick in Dulce Caramelo (27) – Milani lipsticks have been my favorites since I stumbled upon them a couple years ago.  They are really affordable and you can find them at CVS or Walgreens. This color is the perfect pinky nude; it’s creamy, and long wearing.

Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream (Stockholm) – Matte lips are all the rave right now. Although there are a lot of expensive matte lipsticks out there, Nyx matte lipsticks are affordable and in my opinion do exactly as the others do for a fourth of the price.

Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil (Dark Brown) – I typically wear this on my lid as a base for eyeshadow but I started wearing it on my water line and upper lash line. I was pleasantly surprised that it did not smudge on my contacts or underneath my eyes.  I like it because its not as harsh as wearing black.

Tarte Smooth Operator Finishing Powder – This has been my favorite powder to set my under eye concealer with for the last couple months.  It leaves it smooth and doesn’t grab on to the concealer like other powders do and make your under eyes look powdery and dry.

Laura Geller Spackle Tinted Make-up Primer (Champagne) – I feel like I have tried every foundation primer there out there.  I tend to have combination/oily skin and need something that will hold my foundation all day.  This has been working great for me this month; it does have a bit of shimmer but does not make you look like a disco ball.

L’Oréal Voluminous Curved Brush – This is my tried and true! I will always love this mascara and no matter what other mascaras I try, I continue to go back to this one. Call me crazy but the brush makes a huge difference for me and I must have the curved brush.  This mascara gives me the perfect amount of volume and length without looking clumpy.

Mac Mineralize Skin Finish (Give Me Sun!) – Because we are coming out of winter months, I am definitely not as tan as I typically am.  So I’ve been reaching for this bronzer because it gives me just the right amount of color without making me look orange or like I stepped out of bad spray tan.

Revlon Color Stay Whipped Crème Makeup – OMG I forgot how much I loved this foundation!! It’s been in my drawer for a hot minute and pulled it out last month to switch things up. Well, little did I know it would make me fall in love with it all-over again.  It gives me great coverage with a matte finish and not only does it stay on all day but it look better as the days goes on.  I have been so obsessed and it will probably be my go-to foundation for the spring and summer.

Share your monthly favorites…maybe they’ll soon be one of my favorites too! 🙂
